Consent & CNC
Consent is an enthusiastic, informed, freely-given “yes” that can be changed or withdrawn at any time. If someone is asleep, unconscious, too intoxicated, or pressured—there is no consent.
Quick examples:
- Great! “Yes please, I want to try that.”
- Not okay: “I guess so…” (hesitation), silence, or pressure.
- Check-in: “Yellow—slower please.” “Red—stop now.”
Consensual Non-Consent (CNC) is a planned role‑play where partners agree to simulate a lack of consent while keeping real consent in charge through boundaries, safewords/signals, and aftercare. CNC is for informed adults who communicate clearly and prioritize safety.
CNC setup checklist:
- Share interests and hard limits
- Pick safewords/signals + aftercare
- Decide where/when to check in
- Debrief afterwards
